What is injection moulding?
During the injection moulding process, the injection moulding machine heats polypropylene (PP) granules into a liquid mass that is then injected into a mould under high pressure.
Using high tech peripheral equipment, the pre-printed PP label (IML) is placed into the mould just before it closes. This melts with the label when the mould closes to make the packaging. Afterwards, the whole thing rapidly cools down into a shape retaining 100% mono-material.
‘The combination of injection moulding with an In Mould Label ensures a high-quality appearance’
The injection moulding technique offers a great deal of freedom in design, making it possible to produce detailed and customised packaging.
